Intensified have just returned from
a 3 day trip to the continent with shows in Düsseldorf, Hannover and Leipzig.
February will see the release of 'Cut & Shut', subtitled 'the 10th anniversary
album', on Grover Records. This double album will contain the 10th anniversary
gig which was recorded in Folkestone in September of last year, as well
as one disc full of rare and unreleased studio tracks. Both the double
CD and LP will be good value for money, priced like a single CD!
Rude & Visser on Tour: singer Dr.
Rude and guitarist/songwriter Arne Visser from Holland's most famous ska
band Mr. Review will play three shows in February; this is not just just
a chance to hear all of Mr. Review's classic songs again, as Arne has
a whole set of new tunes, as well!
on tour with King Prawn: The Toasters
will bring King Prawn on tour as their special guest for the upcoming
four weeks in Europe - more shows have been confirmed lately (see tour
dates), more will follow shortly!
Dr. Ring-Ding cancellations: Due to
a heavy throat infection of Dr. Ring-Ding, both Swiss shows (today, Jan.
4th in Chur) and tomorrow (Jan. 5th in Luzern) have to be cancelled. Both
shows will be repeated soonest possible!
the InCiters' first album scheduled
for European release: 'Movin' On' will be available from Elmo Records
(tentative release date in January 2001) with two bonus tracks; the InCiters'
first album will see it's first ever vinyl release.
Toasters hit Europe: it has been confirmed
that Buck & Co. will start a four week European tour on January 17th –
countries included in this tour are England, Belgium, Germany, France,
Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Switzerland, confirmed dates
will be anounced soon.

Grover 50: to celebrate the 50th album
release on Grover, we will release a special priced double CD with 36
Tracks shortly – 'Grover 50' will include the label history as well as
many rare and unreleased tracks.
prior to the next main catalogue, Moskito Mailorder has released a special
ska catalogue for records and merchandise; this will be automatically
sent with all order and can be picked up at a lot of show (e.g. Skatalites,
Dr. Ring-Ding & TSA, Laurel Aitken)
Lloyd Brevette on Vinyl: the Skatalites'
bass players' legendary album 'African Roots' will see a vinyl release
on Grover Records on November 13th - the vinyl version will include all
bonus tracks as know from the CD release.
Dr. Ring-Ding & TSA in France: it
has finally been confirmed that Ring-Ding & Co. will play four French
shows in France in December, and there are plans for more shows in Southern
Europe for early 2001.
Skatalites shows: the latest update
on the Skatalites' European tour can now be found in our tour dates section.
The new album 'Bashaka' has been released in the USA several months ago,
but is hard to find in Europe. Still – it's worth looking out for (that's
for the music, not the sleeve...)!
