"WISECRÄCKER - Know it better!

In the middle of the 90s five musicians from Hannover/Germany developed a very own kind of music somewhere between melodic punk-rock and Ska, fast and hard. The melodies became more and more danceable and the music more and more a Ska and Ska-Punk thing. In 1998 a two-people-brass section was added to complete Wisecräcker's line-up.
The city of Hannover, the football club Hannover 96 and the club Bei Chéz Heinz became important in the band's life! In Hannover there has been and still is a lot of great bands around and that's why WC are very proud of their concerts and very special live peformance. They shared stages with MB1000, The DONOTS and played at the Trommelfell-Festival presented by Radio Flora. In the end of 1998 they self produced a first release: the mini-CD '...Puta De Madre'. In 1999 they started another huge amount of live concerts and became local heroes at the Bei Chéz Heinz. They toured to the north, east and south of Germany, met bands like Bluekilla, Skaos, Mark Foggo (just to mention some) and supported The Bad Manners during a tour.
They got in touch with Aztaln Records/San Francisco and the band Caradura from Watsonville/USA. That's why the WC song 'Cuba Libre' was put on the compilation 'Puro Eskañol Vol. 3' and the band went on tour in California and Mexiko for five gigs. In L.A. they rocked the famous Roxy!
The first longplayer was released february 2001 called 'I'd Rather Be Down With The...'. It costed a lot of blood, sweat, tears and beers! The way through clubs and to festivals went on. For 10 gigs only WC flew to the US again.
Elmo records re-released the album 'Id Rather Be Down With The...' in 2002 and only one year later in 2003 Wisecräcker released their smashing follow-up album 'Para Mi Gente' on Elmo Records, as well!
Enjoy these guys on stage - you'll have plenty of chances this year - and don't tell me, that you've seen better ska punk - bands!
